Pink Lady® Apple and Dates Basbousa

Full preparation

  1. Pre-heat oven to 180°C.

  2. In a deep bowl, combine the semolina, eggs, oil and sugar. Next, add coconut powder, baking powder and vanilla essence and mix until just combined. Finally, add in the yoghurt, dates and cinnamon powder. Make sure to not overmix the ingredients.

  3. Grease the bottom of a baking pan with baking spray or butter, spoon the batter on to the pan and spread into an even layer.

  4. Cut the Pink Lady® apple into thin slices and place on top. Then, spread pecans on top evenly and dust with cinnamon powder. Bake for 20-30 minutes or until it turns golden brown.

  5. Take the basbousa out from the oven and let it cool for 5-10 minutes before serving.
